What do you reach for?

What comforts you when things in your life get tough? Is it binge-watching a TV show, using a social media platform, working at your job, or using drugs or alcohol or food? What are we teaching the next generation?

What is the first thing you think of or reach for when looking for peace or direction?

I am here to tell you that those things are all distractions. The one you need to follow, who knows the answer, is Jesus Christ. Read your Bible.

Yesterday, there was a moment when I hit a wall. I could have gone to any one of the above areas or picked up alcohol or drugs. Not to think about it. It hurt and was a challenging moment. Hear that it was a moment!

I was drawn to finding peace and direction by picking up my Bible College Class (I am studying Jeremiah). It was what my soul and heart hungered for.

Psalms 42:1 states, “As the hart (deer) panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.”

I want to encourage you when you face those challenging moments. Pick up your Bible, sing a praise song, and say a prayer; God is waiting for you. He is your helper, healer, and the one with the correct answers to your question.

We need to ask!
