Wasted years

When I wake up some mornings, a song runs through my mind. This morning, it was a song called Wasted Years. It is a gospel song with a lot of meaning.

In the past, I have wasted so many years. In the Bible, many examples exist of people wasting their time on earth. I think specifically of the “The Samaritan Woman at Jacob’s Well” found in John 1:4-26.

Jesus went to her and showed her the wasted years of so many marriages and yet living with one. Facing our past can be challenging. Yet, as this woman, Jesus used her life to call others.

What we see is wasted, but Jesus did not. He uses it to call others to show others the way. As the song says, “He’s calling you,” the question before you is, will you answer? It is easy.

You can message me below if you need to talk. God loves you and doesn’t want another day of your life wasted, but He has a use/purpose for it.

Lyrics to the song: Wasted Years

He’s calling you
From a life of wasted years

Have you wandered along
On life’s pathway
Have you lived without love
A life of tears
Have you searched for that
Great hidden meaning
Or is your life
Filled with long wasted years

Search for wisdom and seek
Understanding

There is One who always cares
And understands

Give it up, give it up
The load you’re bearing
You can’t go on
With a life of wasted years

Wasted years, wasted years
Oh, how foolish
As you walk on in darkness and fear
Turn around, turn around
God is calling
He’s calling you
From a life of wasted years
