Turn on your headlights

The Bible is our manual for everyday living. We can If we seek long and hard enough. We will find our answer there. That is why some people call it a love letter from God.

In Minnesota, where I live, we have been having A LOT of foggy mornings. And they make me think of this scripture in Psalms 119:105, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

We all like those sunny days where we can see forever. Driving isn’t challenging. We get so accustomed to driving we forget to be watchful.

When driving in a fog at night or in the day it is a different story. We depend on our headlights to see the road and to show others we are on the road.

Why doesn’t God tell us what will happen or give us a roadmap for our life? The Bible is our lamp to turn on so God can light up the path we need to walk. We will not see the curves in the road, the T intersection, or even others if we are not watchful. God’s word is the light that helps us to be watchful.

So, are you turning on your lamp and allowing God’s word to give you direction for today? Or are you driving with no headlights on?
