Sanctification

What does your life look like after accepting Jesus Christ as your savior?

First, your life will be different. You can not continue life as it was after accepting Jesus Christ.  1 John 1:5 The Bible says, “God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” So, something must change.

For me, some things happened immediately, and others took time. God showed me things about me that weren’t pleasing in His eyes. What, you may ask? I will quote Pastor Loren, “Sin is a buffet line. Eat off your plate.” What I dealt with isn’t what you have or will deal with. The question is, will you?

See, to walk with Jesus, we must walk in the light and face our past. God is gracious and shows us what we need to change as our faith (trust) in Jesus and God’s word grows. Things are revealed to us. Then, it is up to us to look at them now or later. Oh, there will be a later. He doesn’t want to leave you like you were. The more you grow closer to God, the more His light shines on your life, past and present.  You will be shown things you may not want to face.

Some of the things from my past I faced were preparing me for the future He had for me.

Justification or our walk from salvation till we die. Our spiritual dash, you could say, you cannot stay the same. Well, you could, but why?  Salvation is not a once-and-done either. Philip 2:12 says, “Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”

So, we walk out each day leaning on God for direction and allowing Him to see into our hearts and why we do things. So, when we are ready, He can heal those dark places.
