John 20:11 – 21:8
Today, I am pondering the Cross of Jesus Christ.
To receive all Jesus did at the cross.
I know He went to the cross for our physical healing. To access this great gift, you must first admit you are a sinner and believe Jesus went to the cross for your sins.
The next part to ponder is all Jesus went through to get to the cross. All of the actions taken were the sacrifice of His blood for our physical healing. (More on that later.)
In this world, we are quick to attack our emotions. Emotions can quickly take over all your thoughts. Today’s scriptures in John show Jesus reappearing after the cross to heal those emotions.
John 20:11-18 Jesus appears to Mary at the tomb, who is sad and grieving the loss of Jesus. Jesus came to take away our sadness.
John 20:19-23 Addresses the disciples’ fear of what might happen to them now that Jesus is gone. Jesus showed up to take away all fear and to give hope with the coming of the Holy Spirit.
John 20:24-29 Thomas doubted it was Jesus and needed to see Him for himself. Again, Jesus showed up and specifically showed Thomas his wounds. Jesus will take away all our doubt.
John 21:1-8 The disciples were busy working for a living and trying to bring income for their household. After much toil, they had nothing, but then Jesus showed up and told them what to do, and it brought in so much that they needed help from other disciples. So here Jesus showed up for our cares of the world.
Let’s ponder this: Jesus cares even about our emotions of sadness, fear, and doubt and cares to supply our needs.
