Today, as in other days, it will be full of distractions. We are bombarded with them all the time. More so nowadays because of technology. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook Reels, and so much more. I am guilty of being distracted.
We need to focus on what is essential. It is not those things. Your relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important. Our relationship with the Lord will help us with today’s problems more than anything else.
What is it you look at first in the morning? Your bank account, emails, Facebook, you fill in the blanks. But if we don’t take time for the Lord, these are all distractions, or you can call them bunny trails. They detour us and keep us from what is essential.
Spending even 5 minutes with God in the morning can and will set the tone for the day. When we finally realize how much time we have spent on the “distractions,” it is time lost. As busy as the days are, we must not allow the things of this world to become more important to us than time with God.
So, how do you spend your morning? Are you one who hits the ground running because you have snoozed your alarm too many times? Or because you stayed up late last night?
I am not saying you must spend time with God every morning. I know some people have a devotion time at night. I want to encourage you to find time in your day and spend it with God. Look for where the enemy wants to steal your precious time with God.
Proverbs 3:6, Mark 1:35, and Matthew 10:38-39 are just a few scriptures stating the importance of seeking God. If we seek what we want first, we will not accomplish what we want to get done, BUT if we seek God, His word says in Proverbs 16:3, He will establish our ways.
I want what God wants, so I seek Him in the morning when He can be found and before all the distractions take over my thoughts for the day.
IN HIM
