This holiday season is full of so much stuff. What do I get this person? I must give this because my family always gives expensive items. Even though I am not in a place that allows you to compete with them,
This holiday season, I hear the LORD asking are you content? Philippians 4:12 says: “I know what it is to have little, and I know what it is to have plenty. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being well-fed and of going hungry, of having plenty and of being in need.”
Years ago, as a single mom of three, I had no money to give my parents a lovely gift. In talking with my parents, they understood and said it would be enough if I could give a letter. It is from the heart. That is precisely what I did that year. It didn’t change how I felt in front of my siblings as I saw how they blessed dad and mom. I knew my parents understood.
Our lord understands our situation more than we know. He is asking are you content?
Have a Merry Christmas and enjoy each other regardless of the gifts. Our greatest gift ever given was Jesus Christ. Let us remember and NEVER forget.
