Sorry, you got caught.

This morning, my devotion from My Utmost for His Highest was about what you do when you feel caught. When your sin is exposed, you have two options. One is to say, “I am so sorry,” and the other is to go further and ask God to forgive you. This is not to be just words, though; you need to want a change. Examine your heart.

I used to ask my kids are you genuinely sorry or just sorry you got caught? This question is one I feel the Lord asks us.

Saying sorry smooths, the waters. Being genuinely sorry goes one step further. You mean you don’t want to do it again. Ok, I know we are not perfect at stopping the sin in our lives. This is when you have a conversation with GOD. The deal is the state of your heart.

This question is one you need to evaluate daily. Where is your heart? What are you thinking? If I apologize, my friend will forgive me, and it will be all good. But will it? Whatever we do to those on this earth, we do to our Father God. So, you may make your world here on earth okay with an apology, but that doesn’t cut it with GOD. He is the only one who knows your heart, motives, and world.

So today, ponder your heart.

Are you ok with God? Do you need to have a conversation with Him about something? Has a situation for years hurt you? He is waiting to hear from you. HE LOVES YOU UNCONDITIONALLY, with no strings attached. Just to be honest. He is waiting. All you must do is have a frank talk with Him. You won’t shock Him. He already knows but needs to hear it from you.
