So, has anyone ever had the same theme of re-occurring dreams? I have been lately. It is all about being in the shell of a home and the rebuilding process.
When this happens, my question to the Lord is, why? What do you want me to see or learn through this dream?
This dream takes me back to when we remodeled the Titus II house, which now is a retreat center. Back in 2009, the house was 109 years old. It had good bones (structure) and would work for our needs. So, the process started. We cleaned the interior, replaced windows, moved walls, and redone stairs, to name a few items. It was a mess for a while. Then, it slowly came together the way we had it on our blueprints. It was a process and didn’t happen overnight. Those driving by could not see the changes going on inside.
Such is our walk with Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We ask Him to come into our hearts and minds. Then the work starts. Some things go away immediately, and others take time. But the clearing of our thoughts and habits needs to be rebuilt. The process can be complex, and no one may see what is happening inside. There is a change happening. Once we let God into a room in our hearts to clean up one, we are ready to face it. It can be messy, and you may have many talks with God about why it hurts. God never leaves your side in the process. He is there to lead, guide, and comfort you.
The question is, are you willing to open the door you have closed and let God help you repair the damage the world has done and bring you His peace?
Psalm 51:7 (NIV) says, “Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.”
