Dry places in our lives

Have you ever gotten so thirsty that your mouth is just dry? In the desert, your skin cracks, and you are parched for anything to drink. Sometimes, you hallucinate about a place with water and shade.  So, what do you do?

This is an excellent example of our spirit at times in our lives. If you ever feel like you don’t know what to do next. Or have no direction or desire to go forward. This would be a dry place.

When your mouth is dry, you drink water, so when your soul is dry, take a few words from the Bible and think about them. It is about something other than doing your reading plan so I can put a check in a box. It is about allowing the living word of God to fill your body, mind, and soul.

The problem is once our thirst has been quenched, we go back to the old ways and then revisit the old path again and again. Ezekiel 37 speaks on dry bones and how the breath of God entered them, and they lived.

I suggest we stay in God’s word and soak it up. Daily. So many people go to church on Sunday, check the box, and then go about life like they never went or heard the word of God.  I listened to a pastor compare this to having a personal trainer. You meet with them and don’t follow their advice afterward. See, we need to be filled daily. More so, we need to allow those words to change our mindset.

What and when are you watering your mind and soul?
