Did it again, Lord

Ever have one of those moments where you say I did it again, Lord? Of course, you have and are in good company, not only with me but also with the Apostle Paul. See, he wrote about this in Romans 7:15-20.

This is very much a heart question this morning. When your body reminds you, you should not have done that. We all have bargained with God, praying, “I won’t do that again if you make the pain stop.” But we lie because once the consequences from (fill in blank) stop, we forget the pain or what the pain was like, and then we do it all again.

I am trying to eat healthy and take care of my body. But we all know “stuff,” aka food, tastes so good. As a single person, learning to make enough just for me can be challenging, having the same food every day for a week. Then enters the sweets, those good-tasting comfort foods. When I wake up the next morning, I reflect on the previous day and realize I have gone around the food/eating mountain again. Why?

How about anger, spending, pornography, oh, this is a good one gossiping?
There are many more areas of our flesh, but I think you understand.
You can say it is an addiction, disease, or habit and give up trying to change saying it is just how I am.

Or how about it being just too hard, in what you are really saying is “I DON’T WANT TO CHANGE?”

So, swallow your pride (yes, it is pride) and ask God to help you.
For if it seems too big for you to do, it is.
Jesus went to the cross for the BIG and the small things in our lives.
He took it all at the cross for us.

I CAN’T, GOD, BUT YOU CAN! HELP!!
